Welcome to The Heart of Learning — a small, private hybrid Tutoring centre located in the vibrant coastal community of Puerto Aventuras, in the heart of the Mexican Riviera Maya.

We support students from Grades 3 to 12 through a personalized blend of accredited online education and structured in-person guidance. Our model combines academic rigor with individual attention, allowing students to progress confidently while receiving the support they need to thrive.

Through our partnership with Edmentum International, students complete their official schooling using a fully accredited U.S. online curriculum.

Edmentum provides:

• Qualified subject teachers
• Assigned and graded coursework
• Direct academic feedback
• U.S.-accredited end-of-year certification aligned with international standards

This ensures that students remain academically on track and eligible for international university pathways.

While Edmentum provides the accredited curriculum, our role at THOL is to provide a safe, structured, and professionally supervised environment where students can succeed.

Our Learning Guides offer:

• On-site tutoring and academic reinforcement
• Organizational coaching and study skills development
• One-on-one academic assistance
• Daily structure and accountability
   

We help students stay focused, build strong learning habits, deepen their understanding of core subjects, and develop the independence required for long-term success.

Safeguarding underpins everything we do.

The Heart of Learning is committed to maintaining a safe, structured, and professionally supervised environment for all students. Safeguarding includes protection from physical harm, emotional distress, bullying, unsafe digital exposure, inappropriate conduct, or any situation that may compromise student wellbeing.

Safeguarding oversight is led by the Director, supported by senior leadership and the Lead Learning Guide. All Learning Guides are trained to identify and report concerns immediately, ensuring that student welfare remains central to daily practice.

Safeguarding principles are embedded within our Parent Partnership Agreement and all THOL operational policies.

Education at THOL extends well beyond formal coursework.

Each afternoon, students participate in a broad and evolving programme of creative, enrichment, and non-core electives designed to complement their academic pathway and support well-rounded development.

Our programme may include:

• Applied extention projects and workshops
• Life-skills development sessions
• Rotating enrichment electives
• Maths and Literacy Initiatives
   

Additional electives, from middle school upwards, are introduced throughout the year to expand student exposure, encourage curiosity, and strengthen practical and creative skill development.
